Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a Journeyperson Welder for its Swift Current shop. You will report to the Service Supervisor and perform welding duties in a shop environment to support production and maintenance tasks.

The ideal candidate holds a Journeyperson Welder Certification with GMAW and SMAW skills; CAT equipment experience is a plus. We offer a competitive wage, good benefits and growth opportunities within Finning.

Responsibilities

  • Minimize downtime and maintain production requirements as scheduled.
  • Examine and diagnose machine defects, repair damage and cracks when necessary.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment and fabricate parts.
  • Maintain safe work practices and contribute to a safe shop environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We are currently hiring a Journeyperson Welder in our Swift Current shop. Reporting directly to the Service Supervisor, the position of J/Welder is responsible for a variety of welding related duties primarily within a shop environment.

Job Description: Major Job Functions

Education & Experience
  • Journeyperson Welder Technician Certification.
  • Certified in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
  • CWB tickets will be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience with Caterpillar equipment/engines would be considered an asset.
  • Any other relevant training as required would be considered an asset
