Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a Technical Service Representative for a permanent role at Mildred Lake. You will support customer machine fleet health and optimization, maintain Caterpillar OEM standards, and build strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician with mechanical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a customer service role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Valid driver’s abstract and a valid license.
  • Strong experience with Caterpillar Mining products.

Responsibilities

  • Work towards minimizing equipment downtime and maintain production requirements as scheduled.
  • Send technical analysis to the customers, and provide recommended service and repair options.
  • Based on the technical audit of the machine, make recommendations on components to replace.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with internal and external departments.
  • Ensure analysis, maintenance and repair recommendations are provided to appropriate groups.
  • Escalate quickly any machine down situations to the right people.
  • Build and maintain a reporting database of equipment technical issues.
  • Provide technical support for commercial and operations teams.

This role is positioned as a Permanent Position and operates on a Continuous 14 x 14 Shift located at Mildred Lake.

As a Technical Service Representative you will primarily be responsible for supporting customer machine fleet health and optimization objectives, retaining good customer relationships, and improving the operation and maintenance of mining equipment to Caterpillar OEM standards and specifications. In addition, the position is responsible for attending scheduled customer visits, aiding in resolving customer complaints and concerns, and forecasting/supporting future customer requirements. Job Description
  • Work towards minimizing equipment downtime and maintain production requirements as scheduled.
  • Send technical analysis to the customers, and provide the customer with recommended service and repair options.
  • Based on the technical audit of the machine and analysis report, the TSR will make recommendations to the customer on what components will need to be replaced.
  • Must develop and maintain open lines of communication with all supportive internal and external departments.
  • Ensure analysis, maintenance and repair recommendations are provided to appropriate groups in a timely manner.
  • Rapid escalation to the appropriate individuals and/or groups of any machine down situations.
  • Accountable for building and maintaining a reporting database of all equipment technical issues.
  • Technical support for commercial and operations team to provide value based insights in support of customer objectives.
  • Part of a dynamic and supportive team structure that’s responsible for aiding in repair execution effectiveness and establishment of best practices recommendations.
Qualifications
  • Journeyperson Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician with mechanical experience/aptitude.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a customer service role.
  • Strong communication skills including verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • A high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Self-starter and ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Valid drivers abstract.
  • Strong experience and technical background with Caterpillar Mining products.
