Finning Canada is seeking a Journeyperson Electrician to join our team in Whitehorse. This role covers installation, repair and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment, including switchgear wiring, with a continuous 14x14 shift and regional wage allowances for locals.

The ideal candidate has interprovincial electrician certification, power generation experience, and a strong safety mindset, with a valid driver's license and ability to work in remote locations.

Qualifications

• Interprovincial Electrician Certification FSRA/FSRB is an asset.
• Power generation experience is an asset.
• Generator rebuild experience is an asset.
• Heavy duty mechanical experience or certification is an asset.
• Team oriented with safety focus; able to work with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and power generation equipment.
• Troubleshoot electronic controls, PLCs, HMIs, and electrical switchgear.
• Build, construct and test electrical panels; load test power generation equipment.
• Assist in fulfilling customer service commitments.

Important Details

• This position is based out of Whitehorse on a 14x14 Continuous Shift.
• Regional Wage allowance available for local residents
• This role will require field work in remote locations
• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
