Job summary

Finning is seeking a dedicated Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic to support customers throughout Saskatchewan, working on ultra-class Caterpillar machines. This permanent role offers opportunities for growth, competitive wage, and comprehensive benefits.

Role involves troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining CAT equipment in shop or field locations, with emphasis on safety and customer service. CAT certification training is provided by Finning.

Qualifications

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification (Agriculture, Truck & Transport and Automotive will also be considered).
• Strong experience with CAT equipment and electrical/hydraulic/emissions systems.
• Valid driver’s license with clean abstract.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in shop or field environments.
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, timely manner.
• Diagnose faults using computerized testing equipment to determine repair scope.

• Wage: $42.62 - $51.57
• Additional $5.00 Field premium

Job Description:

• Trouble shoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in either a shop or field environment (possibility of remote locations)
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment

Specific Skills & Experience:

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification (Agriculture, Truck & Transport and Automotive will also be considered)
• Valid class 5 drivers license with a successful driver's abstract
• Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
Engine and/or component rebuilding experience
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing knowledge
• Previous gas engine and power generation experience is an asset
• Previous customer experience would be considered an asset

Important Details:

• A condition of employment may include the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
• The shift will either be a 7x7 or 14x14 shift supporting all of Saskatchewan
