Job summary

Finning Canada is hiring a Labourer in Fort McKay, AB to support the field service team by moving equipment, aiding mechanics, and helping with shop operations. This is a permanent position with potential overtime and housing/camp options for non-local candidates.

The role requires Grade 12, a valid driver's licence, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Safety, teamwork and good communication are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Completion of grade 12 and mechanically inclined.
• Valid Driver's License; clean driving record required.
• Physical ability to lift/move up to 40 lbs.
• Self-starter who can follow directions and work with a Field Heavy Duty Mechanic.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience in heavy equipment maintenance is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Move equipment in and out of the shop.
• Aid mechanics with removal/installation of guards.
• Oil sampling, lubrication and oil changes.
• Wash and detail equipment.
• Assist field and shop mechanics as required.
• General clean up of shop, yard, field sites, parts and machines.
• Other general duties as required.

Job Description

• Moving equipment in and out of the shop

• Other General Duties as required

Qualifications

• Completion of grade 12 and mechanically inclined.
• Valid Driver's License with successful recent driver abstract, due to safety requirements must be minimum 21 years of age.
• Physical requirement ability to lift/move up to 40 lbs.
• Self-starter able to follow directions, assist and work under the direction of a Field Heavy Duty Mechanic and possess the motivation necessary to contribute positively to a safe team environment.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Experience working within a heavy equipment maintenance environment, basic equipment knowledge, along with preventative maintenance experience would be considered assets.

Important Information

• This position is based in Fort Mckay, AB on a 14x14 Shift. (Days and Nights Required)
• Hours and shift schedule may be subject to change to meet customer and/or Finning (Canada) requirements. Please note that any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the Terms & Conditions of the current Collective Agreement
