Finning Canada is hiring a Field Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic to support Cranbrook operations. You will trouble shoot equipment, perform repairs, interface with customers, and work with the Supervisor on site safety and daily tasks.

This permanent, on-site role offers an industry leading wage around CAD 54.08 per hour, paid time off in year one, employer medical benefits, a pension plan, and CAT certified training to expand your certifications and skills.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson certification for heavy equipment operation.
• Strong focus on safety and on-site procedures.

Responsibilities

Job Description

• Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs (possibility of remote locations)
• Interface with customers, products and sales support
• Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
• Various related duties as required

**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**

Specific Skills & Experience

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
• Clean Drivers' Abstract (5 yr)
• Dedication to safety
• Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
• Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
• Power generation experience would be considered an asset

Important Details

• This is a position based out of our Cranbrook, BC branch on a 7x7 continuous shift (This was previously posted as a 4x3 compressed shift)
• A condition of employment may be the ability to obtain Customer Site Access (may include Drug & Alcohol, and Fitness testing)
• Some of Finning's customers are situated in remote locations
