Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited in Ontario is seeking a skilled welder to read drawings and fabricate/repair equipment at our yard or on customer sites. The role involves welding steel and aluminum, maintaining a safe workspace, and working outdoors in variable weather.

Candidates should have 3+ years of welding experience, valid G license with clean abstract, and be able to lift about 50 lbs. Overtime, tool allowance, and a strong benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points).
• You will be required to provide a copy of your updated abstract upon request.
• Structural fitting and welding experience required.
• 3+ years’ experience in welding steel and aluminum.
• SMAW, GMAW and/or FCAW certifications are an asset.
• CWB certification for stick welding is an asset.
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round.
• Rigging experience an asset.
• Customer oriented, willingness to learn andpossess excellent problem-solving skills.
• Willing and available to work overtime when needed.
• Highly adaptable, self-motivated and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to converse with colleagues, customers, and other parties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
• Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and repair structures and equipment by welding various materials and using welding techniques and applicable welding equipment.
