Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a skilled welder to join our team in the Ottawa area. You will read engineered drawings and fabricate aluminum structures, repairing equipment with advanced welding techniques while maintaining a safe, tidy work site. Outdoor work is expected in diverse weather conditions.

You will mentor junior welders, assist in fleet assembly/disassembly, and uphold quality with strict deadlines. A strong customer focus and readiness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in structural fitting and welding, especially aluminum.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience welding aluminum and steel.
• Valid Class G driver’s license.
• Certifications in SMAW, GMAW, and/or FCAW are highly desirable.
• CWB certification for all positions and/or welding supervisor is a strong asset.
• Experience with rigging is an asset.
• Strong customer orientation, willingness to learn, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, able to work overtime and tight deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineered drawings with precision.
• Fabricate and repair aluminum structures and equipment using welding techniques.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Perform on-site fabrication and repair of structures and equipment.
