Job summary

FWS Group of Companies in Saskatoon is seeking a Welder to join our team. You will perform welding, ironwork, and mechanical tasks, reading drawings and laying out work to drawings and specifications.

This role requires a valid CWB SMAW certification, experience or enrollment in an Apprenticeship, a valid driver’s license, and a 14/7 rotation with time away from home. You must own basic trade tools and may undergo pre-access drug/alcohol testing.

• CWB SMAW certification is required.
• Experience welding or enrolled in an Apprenticeship program.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
• Willingness to work a 14/7 rotation with time away from home.
• Own and maintain basic trade tools.
• Pre-Access drug & alcohol testing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Weld, ironwork, or mechanical related tasks as assigned.
• Accurately and safely uses welding and cutting equipment.
• Safely operates forklift, skid steer, scissor lifts, and power tools.
• Reads and interprets construction drawings and lays out work to drawings and specifications.

As a Welder, you will provide support to the department and Superintendent.

Position Overview

• Responsible for welding, ironwork, or mechanical related tasks.
• Accurately and effectively uses various types of welding and cutting equipment.
• Responsible for safe use of equipment including forklift, skid steer loader, scissor lifts, and power tools.
• Reads and understands construction drawings, including providing accurate layout of the work and building to drawings and specifications.

Qualifications Needed

• CWB certification in SMAW is required.
• Appropriate level of experience in welding or enrolled in an Apprenticeship Program.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.
• Must be able to work a 14/7 work rotation with extended time away from home.
• Own and maintain basic trade tools.
• Pre-Access drug & alcohol testing might be required.
