Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking an experienced Welder for our Detour Lake Mine in Ontario. You will support the Mobile Maintenance team with efficient, safe welding repairs and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Schedule is 14/14 with accommodations and meals provided on site. Transportation to and from the mine will be arranged, with coverage of travel expenses based on residence. Previous remote mine experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–10 years welding experience on mining equipment and parts.
  • Ontario Red Seal welder trade certificate is required or preferred.
  • CWB FCAW and SMAW tickets are preferred.
  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience at a remote work site is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide welding repairs to mining equipment and parts.
  • Read and interpret micrometer readings and drawings.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame cutting, brazing and soldering equipment.
  • Design and fabricate metal/components as required.
  • Follow safety policies and maintain a safe work area.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Welding Supervisor, you will be part of Mobile Maintenance Department. You will be responsible for providing support to the Mobile Maintenance team by providing efficient, reliable, and safe welding repairs while ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory procedures and acts. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Must be able to read and interpret inside and outside micrometer readings and have a good understanding of measurement techniques and reading of drawings and tolerances is required;
  • Operating manual or semi-automatic flame cutting, brazing, and soldering equipment;
  • Performing structural welding repairs to mining equipment and parts;
  • Designing and fabricating metal/components as required;
  • Properly follow Company’s policies and the Occupational Health & Safety Regulations for safe working procedures and environment;
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work area.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • 5-10 years’ welding related experience, with experience on equipment and parts
  • Ontario provincial or Inter-Provincial (Red Seal) welder trade certificate and Canadian Welding Bureau FCAW and SMAW tickets is preferred
  • Preference will be given to candidates with 4+ years of experience welding
  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Knowledge and experience operating various welding equipment for positioning purposes
  • Experience working at a remote work site is an asset

Schedule:14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.

Compensation Statement

In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
