Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited, Detour Lake Mine in Ontario, is seeking a Metallurgical Co-op Student for a temporary 8–12 month term to work with the Metallurgy team under the supervision of Metallurgical Supervisors.

You will support process plant data analysis, assist with testing and sampling, and help maintain health, safety and environmental standards while gaining hands-on experience at a world-class gold mine.

Qualifications

• Student enrolled in Metallurgical, Chemical, or Mining Engineering.
• Available for 8–16 month placement.
• Experience at a remote work site is an asset.
• Proficient in Excel and able to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the metallurgical department with data analysis, recordkeeping and reports.
• Assist technicians with testing and analysis including sampling, sizing, density check, pH monitoring and cyanide analysis.
• Assist with plant sampling, surveys, research and development.
• Promote a positive health, safety and environment culture.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

Based at the Detour Lake Mine site, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Metallurgical Co-op Student, for a temporary 8-12 month contract, to join our Metallurgy team reporting to the Metallurgical Supervisors.

The Metallurgical Co-op Student will have an opportunity to work alongside the metallurgical department and assist to support the Process Plant to ensure efficient and optimal plant performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the metallurgical department with the analysis of plant data, recordkeeping and reports;
• Assist the metallurgical technician’s with testing and analysis of results including sampling, sizing, density check, pH monitoring and cyanide analysis;
• Assist with plant sampling, surveys, research and development;
• Promote a positive health, safety and environment culture and the Internal Responsibility System.

Compensation Statement
