Overview

Unique opportunity! This turn-key, independent, one-doctor, growing optometric practice in KINDERSLEY, Saskatchewan is looking for someone to share its future with.

Practice where optometry is exciting, rewarding and allows plenty of exposure to medical-based optometry. No ophthalmologist within a 2-hour radius, so ample opportunity to see ocular urgencies and keep up your optometric medical skills in addition to routine primary care. Excellent location, friendly community and fantastic team to work with.

Well-equipped practice able to handle full-scope family optometry. Situated in a brand-new facility, hosting multiple exam lanes and a full upper-level living suite. We have state-of-the-art equipment including Maestro OCT, Optomap imaging, FDT, and pachymetry, as well as direct access to Medmont corneal topography/meibomianography, Humphrey visual field analyzer, and in-house lab via our sister location.

Responsibilities

Provide full-scope family optometry with emphasis on medical-based optometry and primary care. Manage ocular urgencies and maintain clinical skills in a non-ophthalmology setting. Foster good rapport with local physicians and maintain a high level of professional, patient-centered care. Collaborate with the team and use Visual Eyes EHR system to deliver efficient eye care.

Qualifications and environment

Friendly, reliable, independent, and comfortable practicing optometry to the full extent of training, ability and scope of practice in Saskatchewan. New grads are welcomed and encouraged, as this is an ideal location to gain experience in all aspects of independent optometry.

Contract details

• Signing bonus: $10K–$75K
• Daily minimum: $759–$850/day
• Gross differential bonus: 21–23%
• First-year accommodations included (based on 1–3 year contract for associate position)
• Buyout option: $800K (negotiable)
