Job summary

SSR Mining Inc. is looking for an Operator, Truck based in Saskatoon. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting ore and waste rock using 30- & 40-ton trucks and various scoops. They should have a minimum of two years’ experience in an underground mining environment and ideally have experience with mine haulage trucks. This position operates on a two weeks on, two weeks off schedule at a remote camp and requires a proactive safety attitude and good communication skills.

Job Description

Reporting to the Supervisor, Mine Operations, the Operator, Truck will ensure the transport of ore and waste rock. The role may also involve carrying out various duties related to production and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operation of 30- & 40-ton trucks
  • Operation of 2,4,6,8-yard scoops
  • Knowledge of scaling procedures
  • Familiar with underground emergency procedures
  • Any other duties as assigned by the department
Knowledge and Skills
  • Good communication skills
  • A positive and proactive attitude towards safety is essential
Education and Experience
  • Minimum two years’ experience working in a hard rock underground mining operation
  • Preference given to individuals with experience on mine haulage trucks
  • Operation of manual and remote scoop tram experience is an asset
  • Previous mine rescue training is also considered an asset
Working Conditions

This position has a schedule of two (2) weeks on, two (2) weeks off at a remote camp in northern Saskatchewan, working 12-hour days with possibility of unscheduled overtime. The employee will be required to fly in/out of the site on designated days from a pick-up point in either Saskatoon, Prince Albert or La Ronge.
