SSR Mining Inc. is seeking a Driller, Long Hole in Canada to operate underground mining equipment and ensure safety protocols are followed. Ideal candidates must have at least 2-3 years of underground hard-rock mining experience and complete Grade 12 or equivalent. The role follows a 2-weeks on, 2-weeks off schedule with pick-up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and La Ronge.

This position emphasizes a positive safety attitude and strong communication skills. Previous underground Common Core experience and long-hole drilling experience are considered assets.

Position

Driller, Long Hole

Core Responsibilities

• Operate various underground mining equipment (percussive drilling rig).
• Load explosives, install and grout cables for support.
• Prepare daily reports of drilling activities (footage drilled, ground conditions, time spent on other activities, supplies consumed).
• Drill with CMAC and electric Stope Master drills, read and understand planned drill patterns.
• Wash, scale, and make safe drill areas; drive, set up, and operate a single‑boom pneumatic long‑hole rig.
• Perform minor repairs to rig (replace hoses, shank adaptors, etc.).
• Fire shots.
• Participate in regular toolbox safety meetings.
• Complete any other duties as assigned by the department.

Knowledge and Skills

Education and Experience

• Completed Grade 12 or equivalent.

Working Conditions

The role follows a 2‑weeks on, 2‑weeks off schedule at a remote camp. Employees will fly in and out with pick‑up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and La Ronge.
