Job summary

SSR Mining – Seabee Gold Operation is hiring a Scoop Operator to transport ore and waste rock underground. Reporting to the Supervisor, Mine Operations, you will join a team at our Seabee site and perform scoop operations as part of production and development activities.

The role requires a minimum of two years in hard rock underground mining; preference for haulage truck experience; manual and remote scoop tram experience is a plus, with potential mine rescue training as an asset.

The Seabee Gold Operation is located about 500km northeast of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in the boreal forest. About Your New Role

SSR Mining – Seabee Gold Operation is hiring for a Scoop Operator.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Mine Operations, the Scoop Operator, will ensure the transport of ore and waste rock. You may also be required to carry out various duties related to production and development.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Operation of 30- & 40-ton trucks
  • Operation of 2,4,6,8-yard scoops
  • Knowledge of scaling procedures
  • Familiar with underground emergency procedures
  • Any other details as assigned by the department.
Your Knowledge And Skills
  • Demonstrate good communication skills.
  • A positive and proactive attitude towards safety is essential.
Your Education And Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • The selected candidate will have a minimum two years’ experience working in a hard rock underground mining operation.
  • Preference will be given to individuals with experience on mine haulage trucks.
  • Operation of manual and remote scoop tram experience will be an asset.
  • Previous mine rescue training is also considered an asset.
About Our Working Conditions

This position has a schedule of two (2) weeks on, two (2) weeks off at our remote camp in northern Saskatchewan, working 12-hour days with possibility of unscheduled overtime required on occasion. You will be required to fly in fly out of the site on designated days from a pick-up point in either Saskatoon, Prince Albert or La Ronge.
