Job summary

Fastfrate Group is seeking a Driver Coordinator in Cambridge, ON. You will be the main liaison between AZ Drivers and internal teams, coordinating drivers from pickup to delivery and keeping Customer Service, Breakdown and customs informed.

Hours are Mon-Fri, 7:00am-4:00pm. This on-site, permanent role supports driver retention and efficient dispatch in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma is required.
• Experience in transportation/dispatch is preferred.
• Knowledge of driver regulations and border crossing is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and support driver retention initiatives.
• Maintain fair distribution of work among drivers.
• Communicate dispatch information as required.
• Monitor driver performance, miles and reefer needs.
• Monitor and respond to driver satellite messages.
• Assist with development of driver skills (Customs, Hazmat, Hours of Service, Policy, Regulations).
• Assist with driver concerns and solutions.
• Assist with driver inquiries (payroll, miles).
• Update customer websites related to position/shift.
• Communicate and solve problems with customers as required.

Role Summary:

The Driver Coordinator is the main point of contact between the backbone of the transportation industry (our AZ Drivers) and the organization. This role is responsible for effectively coordinating a group of drivers to success through continual communication from the shipment pick-up to delivery and ensuring the appropriate internal departments (i.e. Customer Service, Breakdown, Customs) are aware of any updates.

Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm

Key Accountabilities:

In this role, you will:

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who brings:

Education & Experience:

• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a related role in transportation (e.g. dispatch)
• Post-secondary degree or diploma
• Knowledge of truckload dispatch an asset
• ACE and Customs/border crossing experience an asset
