Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking a highly motivated Driver Supervisor to lead our fleet operations, reporting to the Director of Transportation. You will audit routes, improve efficiency while maintaining safety and customer service, and oversee day-to-day operations alongside drivers and dispatchers.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in supervision, 5+ years in transportation or logistics, and a valid license; willingness to travel to the US and flexible hours are

Qualifications

• AZ or DZ license preferred; roll-off or lugger experience is an asset.
• 2+ years experience in a supervisory role.
• 5+ years experience in the transportation, logistics, or solid waste industry.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, safety protocols, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and decision making under pressure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management software; GEOTAB is an asset.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experiencedDriver Supervisor to join our team in Hamilton, Ontario,reporting to the Director of Transportation. As a Driver Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of drivers out of different locations.You will regularly audit current delivery and pick-up routes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements without sacrificing safety and customer service. Qualified candidates will be self-driven and demonstrate exceptional workplace safety standards, attention to detail, efficiency, customer service, continuous improvement and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a track record of making effective decisions under pressure
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office and transportation management software and technology for tracking and reporting
• GEOTAB experience is an asset
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Willingness to travel to the US
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed, available by phone after-hours
