Job summary

York University’s Theatre Glendon invites applications for a Theatre Technician Support Assistant (Bilingual). You will provide technical and stage setup support during productions under the direction of the Manager, IT Operations.

The position is casual (up to 35 hours per week) with an hourly rate of CAD 32.03. Requirements include completion of a diploma or degree in Theatre Arts or Theatre Production, minimum 6 months of related experience, strong communication, ability to lift over 25 lbs,

Purpose:

Theatre Technician Support Assistant provides technical and stage setup support during productions at Theatre Glendon under the direction of Manager, IT Operations.

Education:

Completion of a diploma or degree program in Theatre Arts, Theatre Production, or related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 6 months related experience.

Skills:

• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to provide instruction and support others.
• Knowledge of theatre event management.
• Knowledge of audio and visual theatre equipment.

Additional Notes:

• Fluent French (Advanced level) is required.
• Thisposition requires the candidate to produce a verification of degree(s),credentials(s), or equivalencies from accredited institutions and/orinternational equivalents at the time of interview.
• Ability to lift over 25 lbs.
