York University is seeking an Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Assistant to support the Event Team Leaders in planning and logistics for Schulich Community Start-up events, VIP Guest Speaking and Dream Team events. This role also aids in data gathering and reporting for the Executive in Residence.

Education is open with preference for current Schulich School of Business students; 1–2 years of office experience is ideal, with strong Excel and communication skills required.

Purpose

The Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Assistant will assist the Event Team Leaders in the planning and logistics for the Schulich Community Start-up events, and VIP Guest Speaking and Dream Team Events. This position will also support data gathering and reporting requirements for the Executive in Residence.

Education

Some post secondary education. Preferably a current SSB student.

Experience

1-2 years' experience working in a busy office setting, ideally performing event planning and execution both face-to-face, as well as virtually through social media platforms/channels.

Skills
  • Excellent customer service, research and data analtyical skills.
  • A solid working knowledge of excel is required.
  • Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills (especially, with the ability to be concise and clear).
  • Able to learn quickly, able to handle a high volume of customer service inquiries, be detail oriented and be able to multi-task.
  • Ability to work with various computer software applicaitons
