Job summary

Orica Canada in Blackwater, BC is seeking a Temporary Yardperson to support plant operations and bulk product delivery. This role follows a 14x14 rotation (12-hour day shifts) and is scheduled to last 12 months, with potential extension based on business needs.

You will work safely in a team environment, wear PPE, maintain a clean job site, and assist both MMU and plant operators with loading, calibration and materials handling.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 driver's license; Class 1 license preferred.
• Industry experience.
• Experience operating trucks and mobile equipment.
• Willingness to learn and be part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to safety by wearing PPE, keeping guards in place, using equipment safely, and following health and safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean job site by picking up tools and securing the site daily.
• Assist and train with MMU operators in loading, calibration and operating delivery trucks.
• Assist and train in plant operations with experienced plant operators in raw material handling and production.

Schedule: 14x14 rotation (12 hours per shift, day shift)

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Temporary Yardperson within our Orica Canada team in Blackwater, BC, Canada. This roll provides support to the Orica team for both plant operations and bulk product delivery, all while training in both departments.

This position is scheduled to last 12 months, but could be extended or reduced, based on business needs.

What you will be doing

• Contribute to our safety culture by wearing assigned Personal Protective Equipment (“PPE”), keeping safety guards on equipment in place, using equipment safely, looking out for the other members on your team while following all health and safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean job site by picking up tools and equipment and securing job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards and improve operations efficiencies.
• Assist and train with experienced MMU operators in all aspects of loading, calibration and operating delivery trucks.
• Assist and train in plant operations with experienced plant operators in all aspects of raw material handling and production.

What you will bring
