Orica is seeking a Trainee Operator - MMU in Quintette BC to join our bulk explosive delivery team. The role operates under supervision until competent, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

The position travels 90%+ to regional mines (Willow Creek, Wolverine, Brule) and follows a 14 days on / 14 days off schedule. Compensation includes hourly pay and per diem, with housing and transportation provided.

About the role - Trainee Operator - MMU (Quintette BC - 14 days on/14 days off)

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Trainee Operator - MMU which is a trainee job in bulk explosive delivery that requires the incumbent to perform all aspects of the role under direct supervision until deemed competent in accordance with the set training schedule.

This position is based out of Quintette area, traveling to regional mines (Willow Creek, Wolverine, and Brule). Must have the ability to travel 90%+ of the time.

Work Schedule: 14 days on / 14 days off

Hourly rate: $39 and $50.00 per diem

What you will be doing

• Ensures raw materials and dangerous goods are used, handled and stored according to requirements of the SDS.
• Ensures minimum damage to the environment through waste minimization and control
• Reports all Unusual Incidents and Accidents immediately
• Participates in daily Toolbox talks and Monthly Safety Meetings
• Maintains all personal training against the Orica training Matrix for your role
• Performs other ancillary duties including relief at other locations, consistent with level of competence as reasonably instructed by the supervisor
• Assists the client in achieving targets and maintaining production Notifies Orica site management of any variations in product specification, appearance or performance
