Job summary

Orica in Blackwater, BC, Canada is hiring a Temporary Yardperson on a 14x14 rotation (12-hour day shifts). The role supports plant operations and bulk product delivery while training in both areas.

You will follow safety protocols, keep the site clean, and assist MMU and plant operators with loading, calibration and material handling. Salary is $30.00 per hour.

Qualifications

Temporary Yardperson (Blackwater, BC, Canada)

Schedule: 14x14 rotation (12 hours per shift, day shift)

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Temporary Yardperson within our Orica Canada team in Blackwater, BC, Canada. This roll provides support to the Orica team for both plant operations and bulk product delivery, all while training in both departments.

This position is scheduled to last 12 months, but could be extended or reduced, based on business needs.

What you will be doing

• Contribute to our safety culture by wearing assigned Personal Protective Equipment (“PPE”), keeping safety guards on equipment in place, using equipment safely, looking out for the other members on your team while following all health and safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean job site by picking up tools and equipment and securing job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards and improve operations efficiencies.
• Assist and train with experienced MMU operators in all aspects of loading, calibration and operating delivery trucks.
• Assist and train in plant operations with experienced plant operators in all aspects of raw material handling and production.
