Northland School Division is now inviting applications for the role of Temporary Vice Principal at Father R. Perin School. The kindergarten to grade 9 school is located in the community of Janvier, Alberta. Janvier is situated approximately 120 kilometers from Fort McMurray, Alberta. Major Responsibilities include:

• A passion for promoting educational success for Indigenous learners, especially in their language and culture. Fluency in language and experience in the culture would be an asset.
• Will work closely with the school council and the community to build relationships in order to create a positive, inviting school environment that is integrated into the life of the community.
• Will actively seek local partnerships to create innovative program opportunities to engage and challenge students and promote a sense of pride and accomplishment.
• Is a strong instructional leader who will work with staff to ensure that students have high quality learning experiences.

Qualifications and Requirements include:

• Must hold or qualify for Alberta teaching certification and a Leadership Quality Standard certificate.
• Must hold a Master's degree or willingness to complete a Master's degree within a mutually agreed upon timeline.
• Has a minimum of 5 successful years of teaching experience in rural and/or Indigenous communities.
