Job summary

FedEx Trade Networks Canada in Windsor, Ontario is seeking a Release Analyst to support the Release & Classification function. The role focuses on accurate tariff classification, ensuring proper release documentation, and timely communication with clients and government bodies.

The position requires strong data entry, permit coordination, and familiarity with CBSA processes, with a 37.5 weekly hours schedule and a base pay range provided. This is an on-site role at our Windsor facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 2 years of College required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Release Analyst with a Certified Customs Specialist Designation.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, office equipment (fax machine/ photocopiers / printers / scanners). Knowledge of the AS 400 system would be an asset.
• Excellent communication, organizational and inter-personal skills.
• This position requires continuous keyboarding and regular communication with Customers, Government Departments, and internal department employees via the telephone, fax and email.

Responsibilities

• Verifies tariff treatment at B-3 level to determine if proper tariff treatment is applied.
• If an import permit is required, uses the electronic internet program to obtain the necessary information.
• Sets up entries on ACROSS and occasionally on paper which also includes seeking AIRS codes for CFIA, Y-50’s and Voluntary entries.
• Updates 1Source and FXG Hit list databases with clearance and client information.
• Enters shipment data into computer system, obtains credit release and ensures entry is transmitted to customs.
• Ensures that option 161 (rejects) are checked throughout the day on a regular basis.
• Completes and submits CADEX report, CADEX rejects day 5, 4, 3 to customs and checks CADEX report for day 4 & 5 entries to ensure completion on time.
• Communicates with internal departments to obtain required permits.
• Performs any other duties as advised by Manager.
