Your role at Baxter

Working in our Warehouse Mississauga, the Warehouse Supervisor will oversee and coordinate activities related to warehousing, transportation, and inventory control. The role involves ensuring efficient utilization of warehouse and transportation resources and optimizing the flow of goods for distribution. Given the handling of medical equipment, the environment requires meticulous attention to detail and strict compliance with process and handling requirements. The Supervisor will lead and motivate the warehouse team, set objectives, and define responsibilities to ensure team success.

The Warehouse Supervisor must adhere to Environmental Health & Safety standards, follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and collaborate with the Warehouse Manager and Quality Managers to implement changes and achieve both local and corporate goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing warehouse receiving and shipping operations.
  • Measuring and reporting on warehousing activities and employee performance.
  • Maintaining proper inventory control procedures and documentation.
  • Ensuring safe operation of equipment used for moving and transporting materials.
  • Organizing staff schedules and activities to meet fulfillment goals and ensure timely, accurate, and undamaged shipments.
  • Adhering to environmental, health, safety SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with plant management on operational issues affecting warehouse activities.
  • Providing employee feedback and supporting development processes.
  • Working with other departments to streamline warehouse operations.
  • Seeking continuous improvements to efficiency, cost reduction, and process optimization.
  • Conducting physical inventory counts, reconciling discrepancies, and maintaining accurate stock levels.
  • Motivating staff to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Enforcing compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  • Coaching and developing warehouse employees to meet business objectives.
  • Building a team-oriented environment aligned with company targets.
  • Maintaining warehouse security and access control, and ensuring 6S housekeeping standards are upheld.
  • Monitoring stock accuracy and ensuring all movements are properly recorded.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least three years of relevant experience with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs routinely.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Capability to operate a forklift.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, or similar applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated coaching skills to motivate employees.
