Job description

Sinai Health is seeking a Supervisor for our Patient Food Services team at the Mount Sinai Campus.

The Patient Food Services Supervisor, reporting to the Director of Support Services, oversees the daily operations of the Main Kitchen, Ware Washing, Diet Office, Tray Delivery, and kosher areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise staff across all areas including kitchen, dish room, diet office, tray delivery, and kosher sections.
  • Manage staff discipline, overtime, and timesheets.
  • Update diet information in CBORD applications.
  • Prepare and distribute reports.
  • Maintain inventory and oversee food orders and rotation.
  • Conduct Quality Improvement audits.
  • Lead monthly meetings, update job descriptions, and conduct employee performance reviews.

Job Requirements:

  • College diploma in food and nutrition management or related field (CSNM or equivalent).
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience; equivalents considered.
  • HACCP or Safe Food Handlers certification.

  • Knowledge of quantity food preparation.
  • Proficiency in CBORD, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Leadership, motivation, and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
