Job summary

Ten Feet Sports and Entertainment Ltd. (TFSE) is seeking a part-time Supervisor, Events for The Redwoods Golf Course in Langley. You will lead the event lifecycle, from sale and booking to planning, coordination, execution and payment reconciliation for weddings, banquets, and other events.

You’ll guide staff across departments on event days to ensure smooth delivery. The role requires flexible evenings, weekends and holidays; peak-season weeks may reach 40+ hours.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of experience in a hospitality environment.
  • Valid Serving It Right is required.
  • Willingness to complete a Police Information Check is required.
  • First Aid with CPR-C and AED Certification, or equivalent, maintained during employment.
  • Experience in event organization is an asset.
  • Experience in wedding-related industry is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the sale and booking of weddings, banquets, and other events.
  • Respond to all event inquiries.
  • Coordinate and lead venue tours, inquiry meetings and other event-related meetings.
  • Obtain and organize all event details and create Banquet Event Orders to communicate details to applicable departments.
  • Coordinate all event logistics and services needed to run the event, including layout, food and beverage, decor, music, technology, equipment.
  • Communicate between and mobilize all necessary departments involved in each event.
  • Review event setup and assign side duties to setup employees as necessary.
  • Be present on event days to supervise event setup, execution, troubleshoot, answer questions and liaison to other departments.
  • Prepare event contracts and invoices.
  • Obtain deposits, take and keep track of payments.
  • Book tee times and be knowledgeable in the golf reservation system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Redwoods Golf Course Overview:

Offering an 18-hole championship layout public golf course, driving range, on-site restaurant and a premier all-inclusive outdoor wedding venue, Redwoods is a staple in the Langley community. From hosting company holiday parties and charity shotgun tournaments to spectacular weddings and regular public golf, we are proud to consistently deliver memorable experiences to our community.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Sales and Events, the Supervisor, Events is responsible for all aspects of the event lifecycle, including but not limited to the sale, booking, planning, coordination, execution, and payment reconciliation of events at Redwoods. Events can range from small banquets to large weddings. The Supervisor, Events plays a key role in providing leadership to staff from all departments on an event day, including troubleshooting, decision‑making and communicating directions to ensure smooth event execution.

This is a part-time, hourly, 12-month fixed term contract role.Due to the nature of the industry, shifts often fall on evenings, weekends and holidays so a flexible schedule is required. While the role is considered part-time, during our main events season, this position offers upwards of 40 hours of work per week.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Execute the sale and booking of weddings, banquets, and other events
  • Respond to all event inquiries

  • Communicate between and mobilize all necessary departments involved in each event
  • Review event setup and assign side duties to setup employees as necessary
  • Be present on event days to supervise event setup, execution, troubleshoot, answer questions and act as a liaison to other departments
  • Prepare event contracts and invoices
  • Obtain deposits, take and keep track of payments
  • Assist with miscellaneous office tasks
  • Book tee times and be knowledgeable in the golf reservation system
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Valid Basic First Aid, with CPR-C and AED Certification, or equivalent, will be required to be maintained during employment
  • One or more years of experience in event organization is an asset
  • Experience in any wedding-related industry is an asset
  • Post-secondary education in Event Management, Event Planning or another related discipline is an asset
