Description

SMS Equipment is looking for a Supervisor, Administration to lead the Service Administration team in Fort McMurray. This position is responsible for supervising a team of Service Assistants, overseeing billing and work order processes, supporting payroll and customer invoicing activities, and driving process improvements that contribute to operational efficiency and timely service delivery.

Work Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Salary: $95,000 to $110,000 per annum.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, providing the flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.
Schedule: Monday to Friday.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead and supervise the daily activities and workload distribution of the Service Administration team to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Coordinate team coverage through cross-training, vacation planning, and workload management to meet business requirements and deadlines.
  • Review administrative processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend solutions that enhance efficiency and service levels.
  • Monitor work quality, provide coaching and guidance, and support employee development through training and performance management activities.
  • Oversee daily labor entry management (LEM) activities, ensuring timely processing, payroll accuracy, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Support payroll processes by investigating short hour reports, managing add-ins, and ensuring labor records are processed accurately and on time.
  • Utilize and support multiple business systems including Extend, SAP, CDMS, Ariba, and CNRL to manage administrative operations and reporting requirements.
  • Build strong working relationships with Superintendents, Supervisors, and customer representatives to support work order management, billing accuracy, and timely payments.
  • Support special projects focused on strengthening internal controls, procedures, and reporting practices.
  • Ensure team compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety expectations.
  • Participate in customer meetings and provide administrative expertise that supports operational and financial objectives.
What You Bring:

The successful candidate will have a Grade 12 diploma supplemented by a two-year diploma in Business, Finance, or a related field, along with a minimum of two years of experience in a fast-paced industrial administration environment. You bring strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, experience reviewing and improving business processes, and a detail-oriented approach to your work.

Other requirements include:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications and enterprise systems.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Fieldglass, GEP, and intermediate to advanced Excel skills would be considered a strong asset.
  • Previous supervisory experience is considered an asset.
