Homestead Land Holdings Limited is seeking a Superintendent in Kingston, ON. You will manage daily building upkeep, respond to maintenance requests, and support tenant relations while ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

The role includes 40 hours per week with weekend shifts and on-call duties. A valid First Aid certificate and ability to lift up to 20 kg are preferred. Compensation ranges from $42,000 to $61,000 CAD per year, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 20 kg (e.g., trash bags, cleaning equipment).

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning/maintenance of common areas and prepare apartments for new residents.
• Facilitate work orders and minor maintenance in plumbing and electrical.
• Address tenant concerns promptly and maintain positive tenant relations.
• Show vacant suites to prospective residents and collect rents.
• Follow safety procedures, maintain fire and winter logs, and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain stock records and perform other duties as assigned by the Property Manager.

Description

As a Superintendent at Homestead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and operation of the building, including maintaining clean and safe common areas, completing minor maintenance and work orders, supporting tenant relations, and ensuring a welcoming, well-managed environment for residents and visitors.

Responsibilities

Cleaning/Maintenance

• Ensure cleanliness of common areas & corridors
• Prepare apartments for new residents
• Facilitate work orders and perform minor maintenance in plumbing & electrical
• Other grounds maintenance

Tenant Relations/Administrative

• Address tenant concerns effectively and promptly
• Maintain positive relations with tenants
• Show vacant apartments to prospective residents
• Collect and record incoming rents
• Serve legal documents as needed
• Rent upcoming suites and complete required documentation

Safety

• Ensure resident safety and security at all times
• Respond appropriately and professionally to emergencies
• Maintain fire safety logs and winter logs

General

• Follow an ‘on-call’ schedule
• Maintain accurate stock control records
• Other duties as assigned by the Property Manager
