Job summary

Homestead Land Holdings Limited is seeking a Building Manager to oversee daily operations of a Kingston, Ontario property. You will coordinate maintenance, tenant relations, and administrative duties to ensure a welcoming, well-maintained environment for residents and visitors.

The role requires weekend shifts and on-call availability, with a compensation range of CAD 44,000 to CAD 63,000. Valid First Aid certification is required to be funded by the company, and on-site duties include showing

• Ability to lift up to 20 kg (e.g., trash bags, cleaning equipment).

Responsibilities

• Oversee cleaning of common areas and prepare apartments for new residents.
• Coordinate maintenance work orders and perform minor plumbing/electrical repairs.
• Show vacant suites to prospective residents and collect rents.
• Maintain resident safety, handle emergencies, and keep logs up to date.

Hours: 40 hours per week, plus weekend shifts and on-call
Compensation Range (includes salary, taxable benefit & shift premium): $44,000 - $63,000

Overview

As a Building Manager at Homestead, you will oversee the daily operations of the building, ensuring it is well maintained, efficiently managed, and welcoming for residents and visitors. This role involves coordinating maintenance activities, supporting tenant relations, handling administrative duties, and ensuring a welcoming, well managed environment for residents and visitors.

Responsibilities:

Cleaning/Maintenance

• Ensure cleanliness of common areas & corridors
• Prepare apartments for new residents
• Facilitate work orders and perform minor maintenance in plumbing & electrical
• Other grounds maintenance
• Address tenant concerns effectively and promptly
• Maintain positive relations with tenants
• Show vacant apartments to prospective residents
• Collect and record incoming rents
• Serve legal documents as needed
• Rent upcoming suites and complete required documentation

Safety

• Ensure resident safety and security at all times
• Respond appropriately and professionally to emergencies
• Maintain fire safety logs and winter logs

General

• Follow an ‘on-call’ schedule
• Other duties as assigned by the Property Manager
