Job summary

Homestead Land Holdings Limited is seeking a Superintendent in Sarnia, ON, to manage day-to-day building upkeep and operations, including cleaning, maintenance, tenant relations, and safety compliance. The role requires handling work orders, preparing apartments for new residents, and supporting residents and visitors in a welcoming environment.

You will manage cleaning tasks, administer rent processes, respond to tenant concerns, and coordinate safety activities while following an on-call

• Previous maintenance/cleaning experience preferred.
• Obtain a valid First Aid certification, paid for by the Company.
• Ability to lift up to 20 kg (e.g., trash bags, cleaning equipment).
• Reliability, attention to detail, and safe work practices are essential.
• Team Player.
• Excellent Communication Skills.
• Excellent Customer Service Skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cleanliness of common areas and corridors.
• Prepare apartments for new residents.
• Facilitate work orders and minor maintenance in plumbing and electrical.
• Other grounds maintenance.
• Address tenant concerns effectively and promptly.
• Maintain positive relations with tenants.
• Show vacant apartments to prospective residents.
• Collect and record incoming rents.
• Serve legal documents as needed.
• Rent upcoming suites and complete required documentation.
• Ensure resident safety and security at all times.
• Respond professionally to emergencies.
• Maintain fire safety logs and winter logs.
• Follow an on-call schedule.
• Maintain stock control records.
• Other duties as assigned by the Property Manager.

Hours: 40 hours per week, plus weekend shifts and on-call

Compensation Range (includes salary, taxable apartment benefit & shift premium): $42,000 - $ 61,000

Overview

As a Superintendent at Homestead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and operation of the building, including maintaining clean and safe common areas, completing minor maintenance and work orders, supporting tenant relations, and ensuring a welcoming, well-managed environment for residents and visitors.
