Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in Burnaby, BC, is seeking a Project Engineer to lead HV/EHV substation projects across North America. You will work with project managers to control scope, schedule and cost, and coordinate across multiple engineering teams to deliver reliable substations.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, a BC-eligible PE, strong communication, and willingness to travel. Hybrid office/field work is expected with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with EGBC.
• 5+ years progressive engineering experience.
• Experience leading multi-discipline design teams on large projects.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Managers to manage scope, schedule and cost with technical oversight.
• Identify and manage project technical risks.
• Lead coordination with internal teams, clients and third parties.
• Review vendor drawings and coordinate deliverables.
• Develop design plans, schedules and resource planning.
• Oversee development of technical documents such as specs, drawings and reports.
• Support construction, fabrication and commissioning with technical input.
• Assist in proposals, project plans and estimates.
• Follow QA/QC procedures to deliver high quality services.
• Conduct site visits to verify installations and define scopes.
