Stantec’s Energy team seeks an Electrical Engineer-in-Training to contribute to HV/EHV substation projects across North America. You will work under a Senior Engineer, gaining skills in detailed design, specifications, and commissioning while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role supports a flexible hybrid work model, with office locations in Vancouver/Burnaby and other Western Canada sites. A BC-registered EGBC pathway is available with 2–6 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EGBC) or equivalent.
• 2–6 years of relevant experience; utilities experience is an asset.

Responsabilités

• Perform engineering studies such as power flow, short circuit, grounding, lightning protection, insulation coordination, TRV, cable ampacity, bus design, and lighting.
• Draft detailed substation designs including switchyard layouts, grounding plans, routing, and major equipment specs.
• Prepare technical specifications for equipment, construction, testing and commissioning.
