Job summary

Forsite Consultants Ltd. seeks a Student Forest Technician for a seasonal role across multiple BC locations including Kamloops, Salmon Arm and Nelson. You will support timber development, field surveys and silviculture tasks, with GPS traversing and ecological assessments as part of project teams.

The position is field-based, outdoors, and requires reliability, a safety-conscious mindset and a willingness to work with flexible hours during the season.

Qualifications

• A passion for forestry and working outdoors; field job.
• Preference for candidates with a valid driver’s license and clean abstract.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to project teams in timber development and silviculture.
• Contribute to timber reconnaissance, field engineering, and GPS traversing.
• Support silviculture tasks including surveys, planting supervision, and management.
• Assist with ecological and riparian assessments as part of project work.

We are looking for candidates interested in a challenging entry level Forest Technician position. Four- or eight-month terms are available in 2026.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Student forestry staff will be responsible for providing technical support to project teams in all aspects of timber development and silviculture operations. Multiphase timber development includes timber reconnaissance, field engineering, riparian and ecological assessments, timber cruising, and GPS traversing. Silviculture services include surveys, prescription development, planting supervision, and silviculture management.
