Job summary

Cabin Resource Management Ltd. is seeking a mid-level to senior Forest Technician to lead road and harvest system planning, and manage field and office data. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance and effective supervision of crews to ensure high-quality deliverables.

The ideal candidate will have a forestry diploma or degree, BC road layout experience, and ABCFP registration eligibility. The position offers outdoor work, a supportive team, and strong professional development

Qualifications

  • Safety-first approach and commitment to safe field operations.
  • Education in forestry with a Forestry Tech Diploma or Degree.
  • Registered or eligible for ABCFP as RPF or RFT (or working towards).
  • 4+ years of road and cut block layout experience in BC.
  • Experience using LiDAR data for planning roads and blocks.
  • Strong understanding of forest policy, guidelines and BC regulations.
  • Experience in steep slope layout, SP data collection and drafting, riparian assessments and forest health.

Cabin Resource Management Ltd. has built a foundation of experience and dedication to quality and innovative solutions in forestry, heritage, wildfire planning and resource analysis. We are currently looking to add a Mid-Level - Senior Forest Technician to our Forestry team.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Forest Technician you will be responsible for the following:

  • Leading the planning and layout of road and harvest systems
  • Lead all aspects of data management in the field and office
  • Ensure legal, regulatory and client specific requirements are met with deliverables
  • Effective supervision in the field and providing training for all crew members
Qualifications and Experience
  • An above and beyond commitment to safety
  • Education in forestry field with a Forestry Tech Diploma or Degree
  • Registered or eligible for registration with ABCFP as RPF or RFT (or working towards)
  • Experience with road and cut block layout within BC (minimum 4 years)
  • Experience utilizing LiDAR data for planning and locating roads and cut blocks
  • A firm understanding of forest policy, guidelines and BC’s regulations
  • Experience in steep slope layout and deflection analysis, SP data collection and drafting, riparian assessments, forest health, surveys.
