Job summary

Forsite Consultants Ltd in Fort St. John, BC is seeking Forest Technicians with a practical understanding of forestry practices to join our field team.

This full-time, permanent role centers on forest development activities, reconnaissance road and block engineering, and ecological assessments conducted safely and on schedule. The position offers an hourly wage of $22 to $28, with potential for out-of-town and camp work, and the chance to grow with a Canada-wide forestry leader that values

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education with a diploma or degree in a relevant discipline, or 3 years of related field experience.
• Broad understanding of general forestry practices.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Enthusiastic and passionate about forestry and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to work both independently under limited direct supervision as well as in a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

• The Forest Technician is responsible for forest development activities including reconnaissance road/cut block engineering, ecological and riparian assessments, and completing the associated plans, deliverables, and appraisal packages in a safe, timely, cost effective and professional manner.
• This is a field-based position that has the potential for out of town and camp work.
