Forsite Consultants Ltd. in Kamloops, BC, is seeking a Silviculture Technician for our Operations Team. You will apply field skills to planting implementations, surveys, layout, and reporting, with winter timber development opportunities.

This full-time, permanent role emphasizes hands-on forestry work outdoors in varied weather. A safety mindset, valid license, and relevant training help you thrive in a collaborative environment that values growth and adaptability.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education with a diploma or degree in a relevant discipline, or 4-6 years of related field experience.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Silviculture Surveyor Accreditation would be an asset.
• Registered (ideally) or eligible to be registered with the FPBC or enrolled as a FIT or TFT.
• Silviculture survey experience, planting supervision and/or planting pay plot experience.
• Experience with RESULTS entry.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical skills to silviculture projects in the field, including planting and surveys.
• Contribute to treatment area layout, field assessments and reporting.
• Support timber development opportunities during the winter.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Silviculture Technician position will have a significant field component and will be responsible for applying technical skills and knowledge when conducting silviculture projects, including tree planting implementation, silviculture surveys, treatment area layout, field assessments, and reporting along with various timber development opportunities in the winter.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Must have:

• Post-secondary education with a diploma or degree in a relevant discipline, or 4-6 years of related field experience
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
• Silviculture Surveyor Accreditation would be an asset. Candidates that aren’t Accredited Silviculture Surveyors will be considered for additional in-house support, towards achieving accreditation
• Registered (ideally) or eligible to be registered with the FPBC or enrolled as a FIT or TFT
• Silviculture survey experience, planting supervision and/or planting pay plot experience
• Experience with RESULTS entry
• Enthusiastic and passionate about forestry and working outdoors in all weather conditions as this is a field position
