Job summary

Cabin Resource Management Ltd. is seeking a Senior Forest Technician to lead road and harvest planning, data management, and field supervision in BC. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with a skilled forestry team.

You will apply LiDAR-based planning, manage field data, and ensure deliverables meet client and regulatory requirements while mentoring crew members in best practices.

Qualifications

• Commitment to safety is demonstrated daily.
• Forestry education with a Tech Diploma or Degree is required.
• Registered or eligible for ABCFP as RPF or RFT (or working towards).
• 4+ years of road and cut block layout experience in BC.
• Experience using LiDAR data for planning roads and cut blocks.
• Solid understanding of forest policy, guidelines and BC regulations.
• Experience in steep slope layout, deflection analysis, SP data collection and drafting, riparian assessments, forest health, and surveys.

Cabin Resource Management Ltd. has built a foundation of experience and dedication to quality and innovative solutions in forestry, heritage, wildfire planning and resource analysis. We are currently looking to add a Mid-Level - Senior Forest Technician to our Forestry team.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Forest Technician you will be responsible for the following:

• Leading the planning and layout of road and harvest systems
• Lead all aspects of data management in the field and office
• Ensure legal, regulatory and client specific requirements are met with deliverables
• Effective supervision in the field and providing training for all crew members

Qualifications and Experience

• An above and beyond commitment to safety
• Education in forestry field with a Forestry Tech Diploma or Degree
• Registered or eligible for registration with ABCFP as RPF or RFT (or working towards)
• Experience with road and cut block layout within BC (minimum 4 years)
• Experience utilizing LiDAR data for planning and locating roads and cut blocks
• A firm understanding of forest policy, guidelines and BC’s regulations
• Experience in steep slope layout and deflection analysis, SP data collection and drafting, riparian assessments, forest health, surveys.
