Job Description:

The Strategic Revenue Manager reports to the Market SRM Director serving as a key business partner for Sales and delivery of the key SRM pillars (promo, price, trade, mix) for the unit:

  • Lead development of portfolio trade spend strategy for profitable growth with Customers.
  • Drive continuous trade investment productivity improvements and optimized Trade ROI though partnering with Customer Teams.
  • Drive Trade ROI Capabilities and ongoing understanding of the role of promotions to deliver growth across the organization.
  • Driving the SRM agenda through specific accounts and supporting their business’ on a day to day basis.
What are we looking for?
  • University degree, with 5+ experience in a blue chip FMCG/consumer products with an analytical and commercial background.
  • Experience partnering across the organization to analyze a range of internal & external data sources, drawing out key insights and forming recommendations on the basis of solid commercial knowledge and strong linkage to business strategy.
  • A track record of successfully translating strategies into action and delivering results; comfortable presenting to and engaging with Sr. Leaders or strategic forums simplifying complex Concepts and Strategies.
  • Proven functional/technical understanding and know-how across trade promotions specifically:
  • Promotional Strategy (Critical) – demonstrated understanding of the strategic & operational impacts of trade promotional decisions across the 5C’s (i.e. Category, Consumer, Customer, Competitor, Company) and the impact of changes on the value chain.
  • Promotional Analysis (Critical) – direct experience in, monitoring & analyzing trade promotions, including creation of accurate promotional pre & post evaluations using ROI measures. Scenario planning portfolio trade promotional changes and the levers that can be used to maximize profit and growth.
  • Promotional Implementation (Preferred) – An understanding of the end to end steps required to deploy a change in trade promotional strategy within a market.
  • Promotional Systems/Tools (Preferred) - Knowledge and experience using analytical models and TPM IT systems for accurate promotional scenario planning and advanced ROI assessments, including their integration with other information management/forecasting systems (e.g., Funds Management and Demand Planning).
  • Astute commercial and financial skills with excellent organization agility, understanding the impacts of decisions on the P&L, with the ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills and ‘can-do’ attitude with strong influencing & problem solving capabilities; ability to challenge the status quo and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Lead the creation of the trade investment budgets to deliver the overall business growth strategy, by partnering with: Sales Directors, SRM Director and Sales Planning Director, to create the overall trade investment requirements for the business (split by Channel/Customer) and driving trade promotion productivity forward to deliver category value growth and ‘win-win’ ROI for Mars Wrigley and Customers.
  • Lead the creation of market trade promotional strategy, development of annual trade promotional plans/recommended actions and overall management of the local market trade promotional practice. This includes leveraging SRM trade promotion excellence playbooks to build overall capabilities & partnering with a cross functional group
  • Analyze External and Internal Promotional Landscape on a periodic basis including:
    • Monitoring Retail Promotional Landscape across CBUs periodically (e.g. Promotional Price Points).
    • Conducting detailed promotional analysis across channels/pack types to highlight opportunities.
    • Tracking competitors and multi-category promotional pricing and changes in strategy.
  • Conduct event-level Trade ROI analysis, and effectively communicates insights and findings to SRM Director and Customer Teams.
  • Consolidate & monitor compliance to promotional guidelines at account or budget holder level.
  • Ensures quality and completeness of TPM data for ROI work with KAMs.
