Job summary

Novolex in Canada is seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function, align people strategies with business goals, and foster a positive work environment across teams. You will supervise HR staff, drive strategic initiatives, and partner with leadership to address organizational needs.

Responsibilities include overseeing recruitment, performance management, employee relations, compliance with laws, and development programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in HR, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and employee relations strategies.
• Proven ability to drive change and manage complex HR projects.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead the HR department, including supervising HR staff and providing ongoing guidance and training.
• Develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives and drive organizational performance.
• Oversee recruitment, retention, and employee engagement strategies to ensure talent acquisition aligns with organizational needs.
• Manage the performance management process, including performance evaluations, coaching, and feedback mechanisms.
• Provide counsel to senior leadership on HR-related issues, including organizational development, conflict resolution, and labor relations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and stay informed of changes.
• Conduct employee relations activities, including resolving complex employee complaints and disputes.
• Develop and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and leadership capabilities.
• Oversee HR metrics and reporting, ensuring that data supports strategic decision-making and business planning.
