Job summary

Toronto Hydro is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support internal client groups across talent acquisition, onboarding, job design and career management. You will advise leaders, resolve people services issues, and help implement staffing and labour relations strategies.

The role requires strong stakeholder management, change management and expertise in unionized environments. A hybrid work model with onsite days supports collaboration and inclusive decision making.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in HR, Social Science, Business or related discipline.
• Five years or more HR experience with consulting in unionized environments preferred.
• Experience as HRBP to diverse client groups; partner with leaders to implement people strategies.
• Experience interpreting collective agreements, supporting grievance/arbitration prep, and/or recruitment in a unionized setting is preferred.
• Certified HR Professional or Leader (preferred).
• Internal/external consulting experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of HR best practices in HR, org development, talent acquisition and labour relations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal client groups to deliver talent acquisition, onboarding, succession planning, and career management services.
• Serve as first point of contact for leaders seeking HR advice and issue resolution.
• Resolve day‑to‑day problems in people services delivery.
• Plan and execute activities for attracting, developing and retaining talent.
• Manage risks in talent acquisition to meet timelines and diverse top talent needs.
• Provide coaching to leaders on labour relations and collective agreements.
• Conduct employee investigations as needed.
• Support HR strategies and projects across People & Culture.
• Utilize systems to report on client satisfaction and outcomes.
• Draft and update onboarding and recruitment content to enhance the employee experience.
