Job summary

Fitch Ratings is seeking an HR Business Partner for our Toronto office to provide Canada-wide HR coverage and select US employee populations. You will handle employee relations, performance management, and compensation processes across the employee lifecycle.

You will partner with Senior HRBPs and business leaders, ensuring policy compliance and timely HR cycles while maintaining confidentiality and data accuracy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in HR in generalist/HRBP roles with employee relations and annual HR processes.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian HR policies, employment standards and compliance.
• Ability to manage routine employee relations from intake to resolution.
• Experience supporting annual HR cycles including objectives, reviews and promotions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to build stakeholder relationships.
• Discretion with confidential information and cross-border coordination experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main HR contact for employees across Canada and select US populations.
• Provide guidance to line managers on employment matters with consistency.
• Manage immigration and relocation services as needed.
• Collaborate with Senior HRBPs and local office leadership on regional HR initiatives.
• Coordinate with Finance, Compliance and IT to resolve employee queries.
• Address complex employee relations issues with escalation when required.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports and present data to leaders and HRBPs.
• Support annual performance, compensation and promotions processes.
