BC Building Science Ltd. is seeking a Controller to join our Finance and Corporate Services team in Vancouver. You will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, lead month-end and year-end closes, and prepare financial statements and KPIs to support strategic decisions.

The role requires CPA designation, 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, and strong technical knowledge of Canadian standards. You will mentor staff, collaborate with senior leadership, and drive continuous improvement

Qualificações

• CPA designation and membership in good standing with a recognized Canadian provincial CPA body.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience in senior roles such as Controller or Accounting Manager.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting expertise under Canadian standards.
• Experience leading month-end and year-end close, controls, and accounting processes.
• Analytical, commercial acumen with ability to translate financial results into business insights.
• Experience mentoring accounting professionals and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; familiarity with project-based accounting software like BQE CORE is an asset.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure timely, accurate financial information.
• Lead monthly and annual close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, management reports, and KPIs.
• Coordinate with external accountants and auditors for annual statements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and reporting obligations.
• Provide variance analysis and actionable financial insights to management.
