Job summary

BC Place seeks a seasoned Director of Finance to lead the finance function in Vancouver, reporting to the CFO. You will oversee daily financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and drive strategic decisions in a fast-paced, events-driven environment.

You will manage budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and external audits while mentoring a high-performing finance team and partnering with cross-functional leaders. CPA required and 7+ years of leadership in finance.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience.
• Experience with PSAB reporting standards.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
• Ability to lead in an events-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day financial operations for BC Place and shared services.
• Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Deliver timely financial statements and management reporting.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
• Provide financial analysis and business insights for strategic decisions.
• Manage annual external audit and external stakeholder relationships.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing finance team.
