Job summary

BCCPA is seeking a Controller to lead the Canadian finance function for a global technology company. You will oversee accounting, reporting, controls, and treasury while partnering with senior leadership on strategic decisions.

The ideal candidate is a CPA with 8+ years of progressive experience, strong US GAAP/IFRS expertise, and a track record of mentoring a team. Hybrid work in Vancouver is offered.

Qualifications

• CPA designation and 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience leading Canadian accounting for a global tech company.
• SOX-compliant preparing US GAAP or IFRS financial reporting.
• Strong leadership with mentoring 2–4 direct reports.
• Hybrid work arrangement in Greater Vancouver area.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Canadian finance function, including accounting, reporting, controls and transactional finance.
• Oversee monthly/quarterly reporting, KPIs, budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning.
• Ensure financial compliance, SOX, internal controls, tax and statutory reporting.
• Lead annual audits and manage external auditor relationships.
• Manage treasury, credit position and working capital.
• Partner with business leaders on strategic decisions, investment modelling and growth initiatives.
• Mentor, develop and coach the accounting team and drive transformation and automation.
