Job summary

FOUR20 is seeking a Store Manager to own the day-to-day operations, lead the team, and drive financial performance. You will hire, train, coach and schedule staff while delivering exceptional customer experiences in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will set and monitor budgets, forecast sales, manage inventory, and ensure safety and compliance. The role requires hands-on leadership on the floor, weekly recaps, and strong partnership with HR and the District Manager.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience leading in a retail setting.
  • 3+ years in a retail supervisory role (required).
  • 5 years of customer service experience in retail (preferred).
  • Understanding of budget concepts and familiarity with a P&L.
  • Post-secondary education in a business-related field and/or formal sales training (preferred).
  • Familiarity with CRM systems an asset.
  • Good computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook); POS experience an asset.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Well organized, detail-oriented, and decisive under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach through the company vision and core values; nurture a safe, inclusive environment.
  • Cascade Hub-set targets to the team and lead the planning to achieve them: revenue, average basket value, labour and budget.
  • Plan to Hub-set budgets and sales forecasts, in partnership with the District Manager.
  • Approve store expenditures within budgetary limits and District Manager approval.
  • Provide consistent communication, coaching and feedback to hold the team accountable to results.
  • Run the store’s feedback loop and meeting cadence: weekly recaps, monthly store-standards reviews, Store Manager and office-hours meetings, and town halls.
  • On the sales floor 5 days a week, leading by example and coaching in the moment; accountable for training and customer experience.
  • Train and hold the team accountable for exceptional service through flawless execution of our We Pass program.
  • Own the selection, training and relationship management of your team.
  • Lead inventory counting, management and order receiving for the store.
  • Complete a full inventory count monthly, and run an audit count whenever variance exceeds the set threshold.
  • Own inventory movement, analysis of inventory results, product destructions and return management.
  • Maintain and monitor store inventory levels and support loss-prevention initiatives.
  • Execute visual merchandising as outlined by the Hub.

Job description

Reporting to the District Manager, the Store Manager owns the day-to-day of the store and the performance of the team. You spend the majority of your time leading the floor — hiring, training, coaching and scheduling — while managing the store’s financial performance, customer experience, safety and compliance. You lead by example in line with FOUR20 values, always protecting the interests of the company, the team and the customer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • The basics: your store is open, your people are safe, and compliance is upheld at all times

  • Execute visual merchandising as outlined by the Hub
  • Unpack boxes for inventory as required (boxes can weigh up to 30 lbs)
  • Own daily scheduling, applying our labour-optimization practices to support a great customer experience
  • Ensure staff complete required training, onboarding and ongoing functional training
  • Keep the store clean, safe and presentable for customers
  • Manage vacation / LOA / sick requests and tracking, and timecard approval for your location
  • Partner with HR and the District Manager to process employee changes for timely, accurate pay
  • Support successful trainings and performance / development meetings
  • Ensure the team uses current systems (e.g., Lightspeed, ADP Workforce Now)
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and industry-wide product knowledge
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the local community
  • Lead emergency response — a core part of this role: set up structure for unplanned events, support and direct staff, and secure the location and the safety of people
  • Own inspection readiness (Compliance, OHS, etc.)
  • Keep the store compliance binder current and ensure compliance is executed on the floor day-to-day
  • Keep the Health & Safety board up to date
  • Complete reporting and ticketing in Jetdocs
  • Manage the local security system and building access
WHAT YOU BRING
  • 2+ years’ experience leading in a retail setting
  • 3+ years of proven experience in a retail supervisory role (required)
  • 5 years of customer service experience in retail (preferred)
  • Understanding of budget concepts and familiarity with a P&L
  • Post-secondary education in a business-related field and / or formal sales training (preferred)
  • Familiarity with CRM systems an asset
  • Good computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook); POS experience an asset
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Well organized, detail-oriented, and decisive under pressure
PROVINCIAL LICENSING & COMPLIANCE
  • This role supervises and/or manages retail employees.
  • Ontario only: Must hold — or be able to obtain — the Retail Manager Licence (RML / CRML) required by the AGCO to supervise or manage cannabis retail employees, prior to performing any supervisory duties. *Non-negotiable*
  • Must be of legal age and remain compliant with all provincial licensing, legal and company regulations for working in the cannabis industry.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Must be able to move and work at different store locations within the city they were hired for
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays; additional time as business needs require
  • Minimal to no travel required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
