Job summary

Sherwood Charlottetown Dental in Charlottetown, PEI is seeking a dedicated Sterilization Assistant to join our clinical team. You will clean, package, sterilize and store dental instruments, operate sterilization equipment, maintain records, and ensure a safe reprocessing area to support efficient patient flow.

Experience with IPAC is an asset; completion of accredited Dental Assisting or MDRT programs is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous clinical experience in a sterilization role is considered an asset.
• Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting and/or Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (MDRT) programs is preferred.
• Experience with IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Clean, package, sterilize, and store dental instruments in compliance with IPAC standards and provincial regulations
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, completing required testing and documentation
• Maintain accurate records to support compliance and audit readiness
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized reprocessing area following health and safety protocols
• Identify and report equipment or sterilization issues promptly
• Collaborate with the clinical team to support efficient patient flow
