Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking Security Guards for our Nanaimo sites across Vancouver Island, BC. Roles involve customer service, patrols, incident reporting, and response to emergencies with shift flexibility including mornings, days, nights and weekends.

We offer a training wage of $18.75 and site wages ranging $19.50–$22 per hour depending on site. Valid BC Security Licence and ability to work in Canada are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid BC Security Licence required.
• OFA 1 or higher is an asset.
• Eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Write clear and detailed reports including incident, emergency and day-to-day reports.
• Observe and report irregularities and contact responders as needed.
• Provide first aid and medical response when required.
• Perform regular foot patrols to ensure security of personnel, building and equipment.
• Use two-way radios and site software to communicate activities.
• Exercise crowd control and evict trespassers.

Job Skills / Requirements

We are currently accepting applications for Security Guards to join our various sites: retail, events, supportive housing and more in Nanaimo , Vancouver Island, British Columbia area. This position requires strong social perceptiveness and customer service skills. Sometimes, it may be physically demanding due to the size of the property and requires applicants to be able to work - Mornings, days, nights and/or weekends.

Training Wage: $18.75

Site Wage: $19.50-$22 per hour (site dependent)

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service
• Write clear and detailed reports including incident, emergency and day to day reports
• Watch for and report irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations and contact emergency responders as required
• Provide first aid and medical response when required to any person(s)
• Perform regular foot patrols to ensure personnel, building and equipment security
• Utilize two way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities
• Exercise crowd control and evict trespassers

• Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency response situations with minimal supervision

Job Requirements

• Valid security worker license
• Valid OFA 1 or higher is an asset
• Physical fitness: ability to walk for prolonged hours (most sites)
• Eligible to work in Canada
