Job summary

The Staffing Clerk at Prairie Mountain Health is a member of the Human Resource team responsible for scheduling staff, handling scheduling changes, staff replacement, and editing time card data in the scheduling system. The role also supports HR with filing and related duties.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 education per MB standards.
  • Completion of a business/administration certificate, degree or diploma relevant to the position.
  • Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Two years of experience providing customer service in a professional setting.
  • One year of experience working in a staff scheduling capacity.
  • Working knowledge of collective agreements applicable to Prairie Mountain Health contracts.
  • Manitoba Class 5 Driver's Licence or equivalent with access to a personal vehicle.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), Internet applications and IT.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt in a changing environment.
  • Knowledge and competence of skills related to the position.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and coordinates replacement staff for vacation, sick, holidays, overtime and leaves in consultation with managers per HR Policies and Collective Agreements.
  • Communicates all changes to the involved department.
  • Consults with Human Resources and managers on staffing issues.
  • Generates daily/weekly/monthly schedules as required.
  • Prepares and enters all time card edits.
  • Prepares shift schedules in accordance with applicable collective agreements.
  • Documents all schedule changes on the master schedule and maintains accurate information on staff replacement.
  • Sundry duties as assigned.

Position Summary
