Job summary

A local Korean restaurant in Metro Vancouver is seeking a Specialty Foods Chef. The role involves preparing authentic Korean BBQs, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring quality in food preparation. Sura Korean BBQ Cuisine is located at #1830-4151 Hazelbridge Way, Richmond, BC V6X 4J7. We are currently looking for permanent, full time Specialty Foods Chefs (Korean Cuisine). If you are interested, please submit your resume by e-mail.

Wages: CAD$35.00-37.00/hour (depending on skills & experiences)

Types: Full-time, Permanent (various shifts, including evening, weekends, and holidays)

Working hours: 30~40 hours/week

Benefits: 4% of vacation pay

Job Duties:

  • Plan and instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of Korean foods
  • Prepare and cook authentic Korean BBQs and Korean foods, chef’s specials, and specialty foods
  • Create new recipes
  • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality and safety standards
  • Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items
  • Demonstrate and train new cooking techniques/equipment to staff
  • Supervise activities of cooks and staff
  • Monitor and requisition food and supplies
  • Arrange any repair /purchase of kitchen equipment
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies

Job Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary school;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial food preparation required.
  • Korean food cooking certificate is an asset.
  • Skills demonstration may be required.
